Frequently Asked Questions

What types of roofing services do you offer?

We specialize in asphalt shingle roofs. Generally, we install Owens Corning Duration architectural shingles because of their industry-leading warranty. We also provide metal roof options and gutter installation.

What is the best type of roof for my home?

The best type of roof depends on your home’s structure, your budget, and your aesthetic preferences. We typically recommend Owens Corning Duration architectural shingles because of their durability, curb appeal, and outstanding warranty. For customers looking for something different, we also offer metal roofing options that provide long-term performance and a modern look.

How long will the new roof last?

A properly installed asphalt shingle roof can last 25–30 years or more, depending on weather conditions and routine maintenance. With Owens Corning shingles and proper installation, you can expect long-lasting performance, especially with the added peace of mind from their 50-year product warranty.

How do I know if my roof needs repair or replacement?

If you are experiencing leaks, water damage, blown-off shingles, or other signs of roof aging such as shingles losing granules and cracked shingles, then you could benefit from a roof inspection. A roof inspection will help us determine whether the problem is isolated or if the entire roof system needs replacing.

What signs indicate that my roof needs to be replaced?

Common signs include missing or curling shingles, granule loss, water stains on ceilings or walls, and visible sagging. If your roof is over 20 years old or you’ve experienced storm damage, it’s a good idea to schedule a professional inspection to assess its condition.

Is it better to tear off the old roof or install a new roof over the existing one?

In most cases, we recommend a full tear-off. Removing the old roof allows us to inspect the decking underneath for damage and ensure the new roof is installed on a solid, clean surface. This approach helps extend the life of your new roof, reduces the weight of the roof system, and protects your investment.

How long does a roofing project typically take?

The length of time it takes to install a new roof can vary depending on the size and complexity of the project. On average, you can expect the process to take a few days.

What should I expect during a roofing project?

The process for installing a new roof typically involves several steps, including removing the old roof, installing new underlayment, and installing the new roofing material. The exact process will depend on the specific needs of your home and the type of roofing material being used.

How do you ensure proper ventilation and flashing installation?

Proper ventilation and flashing are key to a long-lasting roof. During installation, we assess your attic ventilation and install the appropriate ridge vents or intake vents if needed. We also install flashing around chimneys and walls using industry best practices to prevent leaks.

How much will it cost to replace my roof?

The cost of a new roof can vary significantly depending on the size of the roof, the type of material used, and the location of the property. On average, you can expect to pay $10,000 to $20,000 for a new roof, but costs can range from $8,000 to $35,000 or more.

Do you provide free estimates?

Yes, we will provide a roof inspection and estimate at no charge.

Are financing options available?

Yes, we have financing options available to make the process easier for you.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, we are licensed (PA158334) and carry both liability and workman’s comp insurance to ensure that your property and our team are fully protected throughout the project.

How can I contact you if I have questions during the project?

If you have any questions during the project, feel free to reach out to your job representative or the work foreman. They’ll be happy to assist you and provide updates.

How will you protect my property (landscaping, driveway, gutters) during the job?

We take every precaution to protect your home and yard. That includes laying down tarps and carefully moving or covering landscaping when necessary. We also protect driveways from heavy equipment and perform a full clean-up once the job is complete.

What is your policy on project clean-up and debris removal?

After the job is completed, we thoroughly clean up all debris and magnet sweep the entire job site to ensure it’s as clean as it was before we arrived.

What happens if you find damaged plywood or other issues once the old roof is removed? How much will that cost?

If we uncover damaged decking or other hidden issues during the tear-off, we’ll let you know right away. Replacement decking is usually charged per sheet, and we’re upfront about those costs during the estimate process so there are no surprises.

How will you handle inclement weather during the project?

Weather can be unpredictable, so we closely monitor forecasts and plan accordingly. If rain or storms are expected, we secure the work area with waterproof tarps and pause work as needed to protect your home. Our goal is always to keep your property safe and dry.

What should I do to prepare my home and yard before the project starts?

If there is any preparation necessary, we will let you know prior to beginning installation.
